Becky Jo Munson
May 5th, 1952 - January 13th, 2024
Our beloved Becky Munson passed away in Idaho, Falls, Idaho on January 13, 2024. She was born May 5, 1952 in Marysvale, Utah to Fred Bert Wetzel and Rebecca Ridding Wetzel. She was the 7th child of Bert and Rebecca. Becky's mother, Rebecca, died while giving birth to Becky. A few weeks later she was adopted by Frank and Delours Munson and was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Becky married Dennis Kendrick and they had 1 son, Frank. They were later divorced. She married Mark Justin and they had one son, Mark. They were later divorced. She married Gary Barben and helped raise his son, Chris Barben. She lived in many states but ended up in Idaho working for Brent and Celeste Merkley, taking care of their daughter, Heather. She and Heather developed a deep closeness and the Merkleys considered her family. They were a blessing in her life. Becky joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints later in life. She received her endowments in the Columbia South Carolina Temple. She was passionate about genealogy. Her favorite church calling was Family History Consultant. She spent Sundays after church working with her brother, Bill (long distance) on genealogy. She ministered in so many ways, blessing countless lives. Her favorite color was purple and was nicknamed Miss Lavender. She especially enjoyed the yearly Wetzel family reunions. She was always smiling, happy, and laughing. Her infectious spirit brightened every room she entered, making her the life of any gathering. Becky was known for her unconditional, all-embracing love and inclusiveness for everyone she met. She leaves a legacy and a testimony of Jesus Christ and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be forever treasured in our hearts. Becky is survived by her son, Frank Justin; sister, Mauna Wilson; brothers: Matt Wetzel (Virginia), Fred Tull, Bert Cuff (Sherrie), and Bill Cuff, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her birth parents; adoptive parents; son, Mark; brothers: Jim Wetzel, Guy Wetzel, and sisters: Patricia Siminoe and Jackie Black Medina. Her stepson, Chris, passed away shortly after she passed. A viewing will be held from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral Service which will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints [4509 South Montana Avenue, Caldwell, ID 83607] after which a 2nd service will be held in the Marysvale chapel in Marysvale, Utah on February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. following a viewing from 10:00-10:30. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marysvale, Utah next to her son, Mark.
