Maupin Family

On Saturday, April 13th, 2024 the world lost, and heaven gained, our Angels due to a tragic accident.  We are comforted by the fact that the family is all together, continuing to do what they loved which was everything outdoors.  They were avid hunters and fishermen.  They enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and biking with family and friends with Johnny Cash turned up as loud as the speakers would allow.  This hardworking family created the beautiful Mint Barrel Barn Event Center that we will all continue to enjoy for many years, carrying the great memories with us as we do.

Benjamin Maupin (38 years old) was the best Dad, Husband, Son, Son-in-law, Brother and Uncle ever.  Ben was born in Nampa, Idaho and raised in Homedale, Idaho.  During his school years he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling.  He will be remembered for his kindness, hard work, and dedication to his family and friends.  He was loyal to the bone, relaxed, and usually in the background listening and enjoying those around him.  If he wasn’t with his family doing outdoor activities, you would find him working on restoring his 68’ C10 truck.

Kapri (Fulfer) Maupin (age 35) was the larger-than-life glue of the family.  She was born in Boise, Idaho and raised in Meridian and Donnelly, Idaho.  She attended schools in Meridian and Eagle.  At a young age she started racing snowmobiles and then later raced snow bikes.  She was a daredevil and fearless.  We will all miss Kapri’s funny, sassy and quirky love of life.  Her unconditional love of everyone and her ability to speak her truth is something we should all strive for.  Her life was embodied by the love she felt for her family and friends.  She was the best teacher, cheerleader, life of the party and an extraordinary human being.

Ben and Kapri met in early high school; they went on to have 2 children, Ryder and Kayden Maupin.  Kayden (17 years old) attended high school in Middleton/Meridian/Star, Idaho. Kayden was sweet, supportive and creative.  She loved to create art through baking, painting, and drawing.  Despite her shy nature, she loved all humans and animals unconditionally and gave great hugs.  Once she got to know someone, Kayden’s quick-witted sense of humor was infectious.  Kayden was a hard worker and self-motivated to learn.  She worked alongside her dad at the family business, Superior Construction, learning to be a mechanic.  She is the sunshine of our lives!

Then there’s Ryder Maupin (11 years old): a wild and crazy old soul born 100 years past his time.  People would describe him as a 60-year-old man in an 11-year-old body.  Ryder was the definition of adventurous, always willing to try something new.  He was sweet, lively, and made everyone laugh with his wild sense of humor.  He loved spending time in the outdoors with his family, welding in the shop, and taught himself to learn many things.

Ryder attended Elevate Academy and was enjoying the hands-on aspect of learning. He excelled in welding, construction, and culinary class.  Ryder brought light and life to every room, and his brightness will be missed.

The Maupin Family were an example of love and togetherness.  There wasn’t a person they didn’t impact in the community, and they opened their hearts to anyone they met.  The immense amount of unconditional love, friendship, and life this family flooded our world with will leave a massive void.  They are a true example of how this life should be lived, and we will carry the lessons they taught us through the rest of our lives.  Ben and Kapri are survived by their parents, Howard and Lori Maupin and Kelly and Brenda Fulfer.  They are survived by siblings Arianne Maupin and Nicole Eckhardt (Ben) and Shayla Lillie (Kapri).  They are survived by nieces Monique, Brynlee, and Lettie.

A celebration of their lives will be held Saturday, April 20th, 3pm at the Mint Barrel Barn Event Center, 9107 W. McMillan Rd, Nampa, Idaho 83687.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to go to Outfitters for Hope (outfitters4hope.org) or Ada County Sheriff K9 Unit c/o Kevin Lowry or your favorite animal shelter.

I'm so so so sorry Kapri. You were my bestest friend growing up. We did everything together. You were the sweetest friend ever. You and your family took me everywhere with you. McCall, snow races, the cabin. You taught me how to ride a dirt bike. And how to smash through your dirt bike track. I wish this would have never happened. Rest in Peace kapri. I'll never forget you. Thank you to the four of you for loving our family. You were kind and supportive. You are all gone too soon. My last conversation with Kapri was all about family. She loved and cherished her family and friends. May we all wrap our arms and hearts around the Maupin and Fulfur families to share the love and kindness that Kapri, Ben, Kayden and Ryder shared with all of us.

How did you meet Ben, Kapri, Kayden and Ryder?

Kapri is my wife's second cousin. I used to work for her father, Kelly Fulfer and her grandpa, Jack Fulfer when I first came back to Boise to get married. The Fulfers are a huge family are known throughout the Treasure Valley. I finally got to connect with Kapri at the Mint Barrel Barn and Event Center numerous times attending various celebrations and functions. She was always the gracious host.
