Ben T. Tanabe
December 8th, 1928 - September 25th, 2015
Ben T. Tanabe, 89, of Roggen, CO passed away September 25, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was born December 8, 1925 in Rocky Ford, CO to Moichi and Shizu (Ida) Tanabe. He graduated from Swink High School in 1943 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On March 11, 1953 he married Mary Uyemura. She passed away March 27, 1982. He met Carol Cook and they have been together for over 30 years. Ben farmed in Brighton, CO and a majority of the time in Wiggins, CO. Survivors include his wife, Carol of Roggen; son, Dusty (Donna) Tanabe of Lake Forest, IL; daughter, Barbara (Bob) Courtney of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Brian Tanabe of Seattle, WA, Kristin Tanabe of Chicago, IL, Ben Courtney and Sam Courtney of Denver, CO; sisters, Mary Inada of Bakersfield, CA, Alice Uchida of Denver, and Shirley McCrory of Aurora, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents; brother, Jim Tanabe; and sister, Shig Kurosaki. Private family services were held. Memorial gifts may be made to "Hospice of Northern Colorado” or "Keene Clinic” in care of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
