Benjamin "Dock" Jackson Mitchell
April 12th, 1943 - May 17th, 2017
Benjamin “Dock” Jackson Mitchell, 74, passed away May 17, 2017. Graveside Services celebrating his life will be 11:00 A.M. Monday May 22, 2017 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, officiated by Pastor Roy Cantrell. Dock was born to the late Mary A. Mitchell and James L. Mitchell. His family moved to Kernersville when he was 12 years old. Dock was in the last graduating class of Kernersville Senior High School. Following graduation, he served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Army. He retired from Flowers Bakery after more than 25 years of dedicated work. Some of his greatest joys were building and playing Pipe Organs, being in the kitchen baking and cooking, tending to his flowers, and his feline friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Lynda Mitchell Newton. Survivors include a sister, Mary Ann Motsinger and Steve; brothers, Bob Mitchell and Linda, Sam Mitchell and Gerri; 2 nieces; 5 nephews, and many extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends Monday 10-11 A.M. at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel.
