Benjamin Edward Pravecek died on April 16, 2021 in Morgantown, WV at the age of 20. He was born on October 27, 2000, at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom. He is survived by his loving parents Candy and Lawrence and his sister Madison. Ben graduated high school at the Uruguay American School in Montevideo, Uruguay. He attended West Virginia University. Ben enjoyed participating in sports from a young age. He played soccer, baseball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, marching band, rowing, volleyball, and rugby. His senior year of high school he served as the captain of his high school volleyball team. Ben also enjoyed maintaining his friendships through his video games, playing a variety of games often with his friends from around the globe. He was at his best with groups of friends around him, and he successfully had pledged to join the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at West Virginia. He enjoyed creating beauty in the world, whether it was folding origami cranes, sketching dragons, spray painting interstellar scenes, or making abstract art. He taught himself constantly, learning new skills, techniques, or games from all sorts of sources. He was polite and respectful to everyone he met, always quick to smile and light up the room. Visitation will be held at the Advent Funeral Services, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA from 4-8 PM on Monday, April 26. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 10 am at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, 3901 Cathedral Ln, Arlington, VA 22203 with graveside service to follow at the Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington.
