Benjamin Pearl Schrader

Benjamin Pearl Schrader, 83, of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023. Ben was born on October 5, 1939, to the late Rupert and Lucille Parker Schrader in Carthage, Ohio. He graduated from Peaks Mill High School in 1957. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1957-1960, after the marines, he went to work as trooper for the Kentucky State Police for thirty-two years before retiring. Ben attended First Christian Church in Frankfort. He is survived by his significant other of 23 years, Carla McGaughey Arnold of Frankfort. Two sons; Dr. Shannon Schrader of Houston, TX, Scott Schrader of Lexington, like daughters to him; Tiphanie (Rick) Taylor of Frankfort; Sarah (Christian) Anthony of Nashville, TN,grandchildren; Savannah Schrader of Seattle, WA and Jessica Schrader of Houston, TX; Tre, Ty, and Coen Taylor of Frankfort; Parker Anthony of Nashville, TN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister; Ruby Mefford, and two brothers; Paul and Leon Schrader. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, beginning at 1pm at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort, a visitation will be held prior to the service from 11am until 1pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ben's honor to TROOPER ISLAND, INC.
