Bennie Peter 'Ben" Gallegos
February 6th, 1938 - January 10th, 2023
Bennie Peter (“Ben”) Gallegos, passed away on January 10, 2023 at 84 years of age. Ben was born on February 6, 1938, to Frank Gallegos and Frances Barela Gallegos in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Ben spent his early years surrounded by his large immediate family, as well as extended family members on both his paternal and maternal sides of his family, all of whom Ben treasured and did his best to keep in touch with throughout his lifetime, as family meant the most to Ben. After honorably serving his Country in the U.S. Army, Ben went on to do many things that he worked very hard to accomplish, including, but not limited to, being a self-taught musician, completing various professional certificates, and being a business owner for over 30 years. Ben married Rosabell Stella Cardenas on February 5, 1966. They went on to have four children, Bennie P. Gallegos, Jr., Darrell J. Gallegos, Mona Lisa DeMers (Gallegos), and Mark N. Gallegos. Ben was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, sons Ben, Jr. and Mark N., grandson James Doyle Gallegos, granddaughter Brandi R. Garcia, siblings Lucy Gallegos Montoya, MaryJane Gallegos Baca, Patricia Gallegos Olguin, Rosie Gallegos Gardner, Johnny Thomas Gallegos, and Louie Alexander Gallegos. Ben is survived by his devoted daughter, Lisa, respected and beloved son-in-law, Scott DeMers, beloved son, Darrell, adored grandchildren, Kenneth Gallegos, Darrell J. Gallegos, Jr., Iesha C. Garcia, and Merissa Rose Gallegos; and adored great grandchildren, Ayiden Shaw Gallegos, James D. Gallegos, Elijah Gallegos, Ezekiel Gallegos, Timothy Ferguson, and Wesley E. Pratt. Ben is also survived by siblings Joseph Phillip Gallegos, Gloria G. Fredrick, and Martha Marlinda Gallegos, as well as numerous extended relatives. In his later years, Ben continued to enjoy his family, and made many new lifelong friends. Ben was endeared by many. A Memorial Service will be held for Ben at Fort Logan Cemetery on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 10:15am. There will be a reception to follow at........details to be added.
