January 1st, 1930 - February 11th, 2016
Bernard C. Nielsen, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away quietly on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Born on January 1, 1930 in Waukesha, WI he had served in the US Navy. Mr. Nielsen retired as a school custodian for the St. Mary's School in Waukesha after fifteen years. Since then he has spent half his year in Florida and the other half in Wisconsin. A member of the B.P.O Elks Lodge #2710 and the American Legion Post #113 both in Rotonda West, FL he attended St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Florida and St. Mary' s Parish in Wisconsin. He is predeceased by his first wife Marilyn, and second wife Bonnie, and a brother, Brian Nielsen. Survivors include his sister: Sally McNally and Richard (Sharon) Nielsen both of Waukesha, WI; his loving companion: Jocelyne Marsolais and her sons, Alain Marsolais and Sylvain Marsolais and his son, Jonathan all of Montreal, Canada. A memorial Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory.
