Bernice Johnson 92, passed away August 10, 2024, with her family by her side at The Fountains. Bernice was a lifelong resident of Yuba City, CA, attending Barry Elementary and Yuba City High School.
Her manys jobs included food demo queen, cake decorator, day care provider, and she was "Grandma Johnson" to all the kids in the neighborhood, but being a wife and mother was her favorite.
Her fun loving nature made her joy to spend time with she was always the life of the party. Bernice was a member of Peach Bowl Lioness Club, she was multiple winner at the yearly costume balls. Bernice was also member of the Moose, she was regular at the Taco Tuesday. ~Bernice and Hub traveled in their RV all over the US and had many fun trips to Mexico and Courtsite.
She is survived by her children, Don McGoveran, Sharon Carter (Steve) and Lyn Baker (Bob); eight grandchildren, Sharon, Mike, Nick, Shawn McGoveran, Brad Mercer, Angie, Sierra Carter and Eric Baker; as well as ten great- grandchildren.
Bernice was proceded in death by her parents, L.O. and Myrtle Stevenson; her siblings, Paul Stevenason, Leo Stevenson, Leona Talley, John Henry Stevenson, James Stevenson, Robert Luis Stevenson, and Virginia Lenius; her husbands, Carroll McGoveran and Hub Johnson.
Funeral Services are under direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11 am.
