Bert "Buddy" Burdett Sartin, Jr.
April 5th, 1954 - January 31st, 2019
Mr. “Buddy” Bert Burdett Sartin, Jr., age 64, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully January 31, 2019 at his home. He was born April 5, 1954 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Bert, Sr. and Fern Sartin. He was employed as a Color Master by Fuer Brothers Tannery’s of Gloversville, along with several other local leather mills. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family. Bert was a proud member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Worker Union, along with being a member to the Foothills United Methodist Church. Bert is survived by three sons; Bert Sartin III, Michael Sartin , and Joshua Sartin (Dannielle), two daughters; Amy Bronk, and Lisa Champney (Perley), a brother William Sartin (Cathy), three sisters; Yvonne Curtis, Charmaine Sartin (Jim), and Renee Sartin. Bert also leaves behind 18 grandchildren; Jackson, Jordan, Robert, Johnathan, Isabella, Sophia, Jeffree, Robert, Nalzon, Elijah, Ray, Alexis, Jeremy, Tashina, Shayna, Perley, Cheyenne and Trevor, eight nieces; Lyndy (Patrick), Alysha (Krista), Tina, Caryn, Briana, Carly, Nicole and Jamie, along with several cousins and extended family members. In addition to both of his parents, he was predeceased by a brother James Sartin, Sr., a brother in law Matthew Curtis, and a nephew Jake Sartin. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday February 8, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00AM Saturday February 9th with Shirley Akey officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery.
