"Belchertown - Bertha M. (Wilder) Loftus, 76, of Springfield Rd., passed away on April 19, 2013 in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She was born October 23, 1936 in Ware, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Yvette (Demers) Wilder. She was raised in Ware and has lived in Belchertown since 1955. Bertha worked as a office clerk for D.D.S. Commonwealth of Mass for many years. She was a communicant and very active member of St. Francis Church. She was a member of the church choir for 52 years, a member of the Catholic Women's Club and a former Lionness. She will be missed by her husband of 57 years, Francis P. Loftus of Belchertown, five children, Dr. Sheree Loftus-Fader and husband Dr. Andrew Fader of Pleasantville, NY, Kathleen Kimball and husband Richard, Laurie Ritter and husband Harry, Michael Loftus and wife Cynthia and Patrick Loftus all of Belchertown. She also leaves a brother, Robert Wilder of Brookfield, MA four grandchildren, Ryan Ritter, Peter Loftus, Catherine Loftus and Corey Fader. She was predeceased by three siblings, Joseph, Mary and Arthur. A Calling hour will be held on Wed., April 24 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Francis Church. "
