Bethany Anne Zimmer
July 19th, 1957 - March 4th, 2024
Aurora – Bethany Anne Zimmer age 66 passed away March 4th, 2024 at University Hospital, with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter by her side. Beth was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 9, 1957 to Robert and Anne Nolan. She graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1976 and had her first son Carl Hagan Jr. Bethany subsequently moved to Colorado where she had her second son Robert James Nakagawa Jr. She met the love of her life, Dennis Zimmer, on a blind date and eventually they married on June 23rd, 1984 in the privacy and comfort of their home. Bethany remained married to Dennis for 38 years until his passing in 2022.
Beth maintained various roles in her career that focused primarily on finance operations of the various organizations that she worked for. She worked for various car dealerships including Suss Pontiac, Mile High Honda and other finance organizations for the majority of her career. Beth was a very motivated and high capacity employee and gave her all to the companies that had the pleasure of her employment there.
Beth had a passion for writing, playing the piano, singing karaoke and rescuing animals with her husband. Beth was a published poet by having one of her poems titled “The Rose Of Love”, published in a book. Beth often volunteered at various animal rescue organizations such as Max Fund of Denver and Rocky Mountain Horse Rescue as well as a brief period with South East Animal hospital. Beth was also a strong advocate for greyhound rescue organizations. She adopted several grey hounds in her lifetime after gaining interest in the idea while greyhound racing was taking place in Commerce City. Beth also obtained a pet grooming license while volunteering at the many animal adoption centers that she supported. Bethany emphatically loved her sons and always put them before herself in just about all periods in her life. She often went on many traveling adventures with her husband and best friend Lee, she loved the outdoors and periodically liked to hike and experience mother nature and all her beauty.
Bethany was preceded in death by her husband Dennis, mother Anne Boucher, Grandmother Gladis Vickery and father Robert Nolan. Bethany is survived by her sons Carl and Robert (Rachel), brothers Richard, Robert (Toni) and Bill, and her grandchildren, Gwyneth, Magnus, Azariah, Kennedee, Reagan and Judah.
