Betsy Caroline Daniels
August 11th, 1934 - July 27th, 2022
Betsy West Bennett Daniels age 87 passed on July 27, 2022. She was the daughter to the late Samuel H. and Berta M. West in Asheboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Asheboro High School and from the North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Winston Salem, NC where she was a member of Santa Filomena Nursing Honor Society and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Her career in nursing spanned forty-two years during which time she practiced hospital, public health and teaching in North Carolina, Virginia and Alabama. Betsy enjoyed volunteer work and was active in Carmel Baptist church, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Contact Telephone Counseling, and Victim Assistance Program. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Blake Bennett; daughter, Elizabeth “Lori” Bennett Crocker; son, William Bennett; and granddaughter, Ashley Caroline Bennett Raucci. Betsy is survived by her husband, John Daniels; son, Barton Bennett and his wife, Cathey, all of Charlotte; brother, Danny West and his wife, Barbara, of Asheboro; grandchildren: Jason Crocker, Amy Crocker Thompson and her husband, Jeff, Sarah Bennett Haight and her husband, Michael, Brenley Bennett Moffitt and her husband, Franklin, Spencer Bennett, Blake Crocker and his wife, Brittanie and Katherine Bennett; and many more loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service. She will be interred at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro, NC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Samaritan’s Purse P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607 or to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Care of Family Assistance Fund: Medical Center Drive Winston Salem, NC 27157.
