Betsy Stafford Rosemond Our beloved mother, Betsy Rosemond went to be with Christ the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2010. Mrs. Rosemond was born February 2, 1925 in Burlington, NC, a daughter of the late Melvin C. and Sadie Montgomery Stafford. She attended Salem College and was a Dental Assistant to Dr. Robert Brannock. Betsy was a member of First Congregational Christian Church in Burlington, NC. Mrs. Rosemond enjoyed reading and collecting WW II memorabilia. But first and foremost she was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Ann Turrentine Montgomery and her husband, John J. Rosemond. Surviving are her children, Ann Rosemond Tarwater and husband, Michael of Charlotte, NC, Monte Rosemond and wife, Diane of Hendersonville, NC, Janet Rosemond Ruscingno and husband, Tom of Tega Cay, SC and John Kirk Rosemond and wife, Willie of Gastonia, NC; sister, Ann Stafford Powe of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren, Ian Montgomery Rosemond and family of Panama City, FL, Eric Brian Rosemond and family of Gastonia, NC, Amy Rosemond Smith and family of Matthews, NC, Kathryn T. Pittman and family of Dothan, AL, Allison R. Tarwater and Michael E. Tarwater both of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are her niece, Betsy Ann Tippens and husband Doug of Charlotte, NC and, Nephew, Mike Powe of Charlotte, NC. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Rob Heyer, Sherri Johnston and Carol Dickinson for the love, care and compassion given to our mother. At our mother?s request her services will be private and interment in Burlington, NC will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Betsy S. Rosemond Fund supporting nursing education c/o of Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, PO Box 32861, Charlotte, NC 28232. Mama, we love you, Ann, Monte, Janet and John.
