Betsy Damaris Suarez Rivera

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS Betsy Damaris Suarez Rivera, 66 of Pageland, South Carolina, passed away, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after a courageous battle with uterine cancer. Born August 29, 1956, in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Suarez and Gloria Anna Suarez Rivera. Betsy was an English teacher for more than 30 years at Superior Emilio R. Delgado in Corozal, Puerto Rico, where she taught until she retired. Betsy was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, always putting others and their needs before her own. Betsy is survived by her loving daughters: Ivettelisse Vazquez Suarez and Franchesca Vazquez Suarez; siblings: Raymond Suarez, Jr., Walter Suarez, Linda Diane Suarez Morris, Yvette Suarez Navis, and John Robert “Bobby” Suarez; grandchildren: Karla Rivera Vazquez, Natasha Torres Vazquez, Michael Robles Vazquez, Gabriel Issac Vazquez, Gabrieshka Serrano Vazquez; great-grandchildren: Joviel Vazquez Torres, Alani Molina Torres, and Jayran Vazquez Ramirez; nephews and nieces: Austin Morris, Sean Morris, Nathan Suarez, Alex Suarez, Kelsey Suarez, Isabella Suarez, Ryder Suarez, Whitney Suarez, Juliana Suarez and Andrew Eller; great-niece and great-nephews: Hayden Suarez, Lorelei Suarez and Greyson Morris, all which she loved very much. In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her nephew Christopher Blake Morris. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Hankins and Whittington, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC. Interment following at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to honor Betsy can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
