Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home
Betty Mae Benson (Rust)
February 1st, 1930 - October 25th, 2021
After a long full life of love and music and generosity, Betty passed away on October 25th, 2021. Betty was the only child born to Averill and Cynthia Rust on February 1st, 1930 in Corvallis, Oregon. She grew up happy, surrounded by music, nature and love. She married Carl Cox in June 1947 and had her first three children, Linda (1948) Ronald (1950) and Betty Jean (1952). In 1959 she had a second son, Bruce. In April 1960 she married her love, Roy Benson and had her youngest daughter Sarah (1961). Words on paper cannot do justice to capturing the dynamic and loving woman she was. She found joy in music, flowers, wine and sweets, even when Alzheimer's was taking over her mind and body. She spent a lifetime creating beautiful memories for everyone whose life she touched and we will all hold tight to those memories in her absence. Betty is preceded in death by both parents and both husbands, as well as her daughter Linda (Gillian). She leaves behind her other children Ronald Cox (Ruthie Moreland), Betty Jean Dufault (Leiland Habbershat), Bruce Williamson (Barbara Williamson), and Sarah Naegeli (Glen Naegeli). Also her Grandchildren Kathalynne Gilmore-Webb (Kelly Webb), Gabriel DePaolo (Sterling DePaolo), Damian Dufault, Samantha Slane (Ronald Slane), Joshua Dufault (Shawna Dufault), Michael DePaolo (Michelle DePaolo), and Jessica DePaolo. She leaves behind many great grand children and an ever growing number of great great grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed by all.
