BETTY CARPENTER BOYD, 91 of Melbourne Beach passed away on Monday, March 24th, 2014. Betty was born on July 23, 1922 in Coon Rapids, Iowa to the late Otis and Adah (Harden) Teter. She moved to Florida in 1980 having come from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a member of, The Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach and was an active member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Carpenter and sisters; June & Treva. Survivors include her husband; Lyman Boyd, Melbourne Beach, FL, daughters; Kathy (Rick) Byrne of Cedar Rapids, IA and Connie Burgett, Melbourne, FL., step-son; Randy (Lori) Boyd, Melbourne Beach, grand-daughters; Tina, Jenny and Katie and step-grandchildren; Becky and Jason along with three great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Our mom will be remembered for her creativity, generosity and love for her family and friends. There wasn't a craft that she didn't try and she was a cook that was hard to beat. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many! Services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 10:30am at The Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach. In lieu of Flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Betty's memory to the Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach, 500 Ocean Ave., Melbourne Beach, and FL. 32951.
