Betty Lou Farrell

Betty Lou Farrell, 84, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away on September 18, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. Betty was born on February 16, 1939 to Charles & Evelyn Armstrong in Laramie, Wyoming, and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. She graduated from Laramie High School in 1957, and then went on to pursue a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming. Upon graduating from UW in 1961, she moved to Fort Collins and began her pharmacy career at City Drug as one of the first female pharmacists in the area. She went on to work at Bob’s LeMay Pharmacy and then Poudre Rexall Pharmacy until her retirement in 2004. Betty married Dr. W. Lynn Farrell, a Fort Collins podiatrist in 1964. They were married for 44 years until Lynn’s death in 2008. Betty loved to sing, and was a member of Sweet Adelines International for many years, serving as Regional President for Sweet Adelines Region 8 for a time. She also loved decorative painting, adding a touch of beauty to any paintable object she could. She very much enjoyed travel and took cruises to many locations and visited Hawaii regularly. She is survived by her sisters Gail Flint of Phoenix, Arizona, and Charlene Kruse and brother-in-law Thomas Kruse of Fort Collins; her daughter Anita Martin and son-in-law Brad Martin of Denver, Colorado; and her son David Farrell and daughter-in-law Dyana Wyeno of Greeley, Colorado. Her welcoming smile and sunny outlook will be missed by many, including family, many good friends, former customers, and fellow chorus members.
