Betty Jo Gilchrist

Betty Jo Gilchrist, 81, of Greeley, CO passed away October 7, 2010 at Grace Pointe Continuing Care in Greeley. She was born October 6, 1929 in Klamath Falls, OR to Helen Lilly (Letsinger) and John Olen House and attended schools in Keno and Klamath Falls, OR. Betty was married to Samuel John "Jack” Gilchrist, the love of her life for 50 glorious years. She was a house wife, homemaker and a wonderful caring mother of six children. Betty also worked as an egg candler, sales associate, and U.S. Postmaster. She loved sewing, needle point, gardening, camping, reading, working crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her family. Betty will be missed by all who knew and dearly loved her. Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Jo Modelowitz, Carol Ann Neff, Joni Marie Gilchrist; sons, Ronald Lee Ash, Daniel John Gilchrist; sister, Mary Elizabeth Johnson; brother, Charles Lee House; fourteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, George; parents; and sister, June Jonette Hill.
