Betty "French" F. Greiner
December 9th, 1918 - July 2nd, 2011
Betty F. Greiner, 92, of Indialantic, FL, passed away surrounded by her family on July 2nd, 2011. She was born in Howell, MI on December 9th, 1918 to Herman and Julia French. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Peter Greiner, Sr.; brother Berkley, and sisters Aldene and Emily. She is survived by her children Julie DeSchryver, Angela (Rick) Davidson, and John Greiner, Jr.; grandchildren, Robert (Alicia), Peter, and John Greiner, Michelle (Jared) Oatley, Emily and Matthew Davidson; great grandchildren, Jamison and Juliet Greiner. Betty was an educator with the Mt. Clemens Public Schools for thirty years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Our Lady's Circle at St. Louis Parish in Mt. Clemens. She was a world traveler with Nomads, an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, Bridge, golf, and crossword puzzles. She also volunteered her time at the Mt. Clemens Art center, St. Joseph Hospital, and ushered at the Fox and other Detroit City theaters. She has wintered in Indialantic, FL for the past twenty years. We will celebrate her life with a Memorial Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church, 24415 Crocker Blvd, Clinton Twp, MI on Tuesday, August 9th at 10:00 am followed by a luncheon to be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kimmel Cancer Center to support Dr. Takami Sato's work in the area of uveal melanoma. Please select eye cancer research and indicate "uveal melanoma research fund" in the comment section. Donations can also be made via check, payable to Kimmel Cancer Center and should be mailed to Kimmel Cancer Center, Thomas Jefferson University, 233 South 10th Street, Suite 502, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Please indicated "uveal melanoma research fund in memory of Betty F. Greiner" in the notes section of the check or a donation can be made at the service.
