Betty Boger Price

Betty Boger Price of Julian, CA, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the age of 95 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Price, who died in an Automobile accident in 1966. She is survived by her son Arthur Price, his wife Kathy, grandchildren Arthur, Janice, Cheri, Victoria, Johnathon and great-grandchildren Arthur, Kaitlyn, Timothy, David and Johnathon. Mrs. Price was born in San Bernardino, CA on October 18, 1917, to Zoe and Roger Boger. She was the descendant of a pioneer family who settled in San Bernardino in the 1850's. She continued to live and attended school there until graduating from San Bernardino high school in 1934. She then attended Pomona College and Claremont College graduating in 1938 with a teaching credential. Mrs. Price taught English and History for over 40 years. Over this time, she educated the students at San Bernardino, Julian Union High School and Ramona Unified High School. She and her husband also owned and operated a grocery store in Ramona from 1947-1966 and ran a small ranch until 1986. Mrs. Price remained an active member of the San Gorgonio branch of the American Association of University Women and the San Bernardino Chapter of California Retired Teachers until she passed. Following retirement, Mrs. Price split her time between Julian and San Bernardino. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, gardening, traveling, reading, and playing slot machines. She will be remembered by all she knew as a mother and grandmother of honor, respect and love. She will be dearly missed. She will be laid to rest on February 1, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404. Luncheon to follow service. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of donor's choice.
