Obituary Betty J. Derringer Schalck, 71, of Lexington, Kentucky and the wife of Stan L. Schalck, died Sunday, February 19, 2012. She was born on April 20, 1940, to the late James E. and Waisle Shewmaker Derringer. In addition to her husband Stan, Betty is survived by her daughters, Justina (Edward) Bockey of OH and Gwen (Juan) Martinez of Lexington, KY; sons, Richard Colvin of Lexington, KY and Owen (Cathy Lowe) Colvin of Harrodsburg, KY; brothers, Richard (Nikki) Derringer of Harrodsburg, KY and Glenn Derringer of Mackville, KY; step sons, Michael (Virginia) Schalck of CA, David (Darla) Schalck of Silvergrove, KY and Cory Schalck of CA; grandchildren, Justin Jones, Ashley Bugg, Zachary Bugg, Autumn Martinez, Dylan Colvin, Amanda Colvin Riley, Morgan Colvin, Jacob Schalck, Destri Bockey and Ashley Hamlett; and great grandchildren, Alejandra "Ale" Escobar, Alexia Escobar, Rachel Carter, Troy Bugg, Steven Bugg, Kamdyn Riley, Malaki Colvin and Kaydence Riley. Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Justus "Jay" Colvin, III; and her brothers, Harry and Madison Derringer. Funeral Information A Memorial Service will be 1 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center, followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends until 5 pm.
