Betty Joan Stroud
March 25th, 1933 - December 17th, 2011
Betty J. Stroud Born in Cape Girardeau, MO on March 25, 1933 to Virgil and Emma Cotner, and died on December 17, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Raleigh Earl Stroud; her four children, Karen (L.E.) Miller of Tucson, AZ, Sue (Jeff) Stovall of Collierville, TN, Libby (Jason) Wilson of Wildwood, MO and Greg (Rhondi) Stroud of Windsor, CA; eight grandsons, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Betty grew up in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Central High School. After graduation she and Raleigh married and traveled to various locations during his 30 year military career. She was a devoted Christian and member of Sabino Road Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the Southern Arizona Arabian Horse Association and served on the board of directors as a past President, as well as other positions. Betty was also a small business owner of Ziebart Tidycar in Tucson for ten years. She was a Cross Volunteer, taught piano and worked with several charities in the Tucson area. A Celebration of her life will be held at Sabino Road Baptist Church, 2710 N. Sabino Canyon Rd., Tucson, AZ on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at SO. AZ Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , TMC Peppi's House or the American Cancer Society . Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
