Betty Mae Thomas

May 13th, 1934 - August 7th, 2024

Betty was born to Ida Bailey and Curtis DeMars in Crandon Wis. on May 13 1934. World War 2 brought her family to Salinas California. In 1944, Her future husband Phil, and his family were also brought to Salinas that same year. They were both 8yrs old. She had 3 younger sisters whom she adored, Elaine, Debra and Michelle.

She married Phillip Thomas 1n 1956. They had four beautiful children, Andy, Katherine, Phyllis and Elizabeth.

 

The Family moved to Chico in 1964, where they raised their children.

Cooking was her main interest. Betty enjoyed reading cook books while Phil read a novel. She loved entertaining and preparing meals for large groups of people.

 

They retired in 2000 and enjoyed traveling.

 

Betty passed away August 7th, with her husband and two daughters holding her hands.

Services will be Private.

 

Donations can be made to Butte Humane Society.
