Betty Keller Walker known as Mama, Nana, Mrs. Betty, Boo and family friend passed away on February 22, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Vera C. Keller of Grant, Alabama. Betty was the 5th of 7 children and graduated from the DAR School in Grant, Alabama. Her mother died when Betty was 5 years old and that meant she and her siblings had to work hard on household and farm chores. That is where and when she learned work ethics, honesty, going the extra mile, sharing and the love of God and family. After graduation, she moved to Warner Robins, Georgia. Living with family she got a job at Southern Bell, marrying in 1953 and becoming a mother to Linda in 1954. Her greatest joys were that of being a Christian, mother and Nana. In the 1960's she and Linda moved from Jacksonville, Florida back to Warner Robins, Georgia; given rest with James, Verna and David Evans in their loving home. She began working at Robins Financial Credit Union where she later retired after 32 years. She was a devoted member of Warner Robins Church of Christ. Also in the 1960's, she and a family friend, Exia Lane began keeping small children for young mothers to attend Sunday School. She loved rocking babies and teaching valuable care and life lessons to the mothers. She did that work until she was no longer physically able. Betty was a strong single mother who taught that the Lord will provide against all odds if you follow his word and try to live in that manner. She gave to others when she had very little, loving people and loving God. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-mother Nanny Keller, brothers: Arden (Dorothy) Keller, Bernard (Kathy) Keller, Felton (Gail) Keller, Harold (Nell) Keller, and Robert (Charlotte) Keller; sister Ruby (Ed "Pan") Keller Law, son (in-law) Craig Justice, and extended family members. Betty is survived by her cherished daughter Linda Justice; grandchild: Alayna Youngblood; great grandchildren: Lita and Faith and a host of extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, February 24, 2023 at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held one hour prior at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, February 24, 2023 between 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A committal service will immediately follow the service at Parkway Memorial Gardens with Minister Daniel Stearsman officiating. A luncheon will take place at the Warner Robins Church of Christ for the family and friends to attend at 1:30 PM. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in Mrs. Betty Walker's name to Church Home Life Spring Rehabilitation & Healthcare, 2470 US Hwy 41 N, Fort Valley, GA 31030; ProMedica Hospice, 5400 Riverside Drive, Suite 200, Macon, GA 31210, or the Warner Robins Church of Christ, 1947 Watson Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
