On the morning of November 1, heaven gained a beautiful, new angel in Betty Werth. Betty Ann (Wilsie) Werth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She had courageously battled cancer the last few years of her life. In her final days, she received frequent visits from extended family and friends, which meant the world to her. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her husband, Bill Werth, was her consummate soul mate and partner in life. She was a nurturer, having touched the lives of everyone around her by sharing so much compassion and love. Betty was born in Tacoma, March 21, 1943, and was the second oldest among seven siblings. She is preceded in death by sister Linda and brother Don. She attended school in the area and graduated from Lincoln High. As a young adult, Betty married her first husband and raised a family including three sons and two daughters. When most of her children became adults, Betty began work as a bank teller. Over the years, she was employed at various organizations in payroll and accounting positions. However, her greatest passion was partnering with her sister to start and run a small bridal dress and accessories business in Tacoma. Betty married again to her best friend Bill and was happy to share a great life with a new, extended family. They enjoyed nearly 40 years together. She loved spending time with her husband as they went on many adventures including cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas and Mexico; a six-week road trip throughout the US; and traveling and camping in their RV. Her hobbies and joys in life included baking with her daughter and granddaughters, holiday gatherings with family & friends, sewing and crafts, reading, learning about genealogy, watching the Hallmark Channel and auto races on TV, and dining out at IHOP, Chinese restaurants and local eateries. A celebration of life is planned for November 11th, starting at 11am, at Foursquare Church - South Campus (South Hill), 16120 Meridian East, Puyallup, WA 98375. Phone: 253-848-9111. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to a local cancer or hospice organization of your choice.
