Beulah Acarregui

February 26th, 1921 - April 22nd, 2013

Beulah M. Acarregui, 92, of Caldwell, died Monday, April 22, 2013 at a Caldwell care center. Beulah was born on February 26, 1921 in Indiana, the daughter of Fred Wallbaum and Ida Mae (Simpson) Wallbaum-Hart. Beulah migrated from Kentucky to Caldwell, Idaho where she attended grade and high schools. Beulah had a job opportunity in the summer of 1938 working at the Acarregui ranch in Jordan Valley, Oregon. Beulah worked for John and Paula Acarregui as a kitchen helper during the haying season. Mrs. Paula Acarregui taught Beulah how to cook Basque food. Beulah was known for her Basque cooking skills she learned from Paula who would become Beulah’s mother-in-law. While Beulah was a the Acarregui ranch she fell in love with Paula’s son, Antone (Tony) Acarregui. They married and enjoyed 59 years together. Beulah worked 20 plus years as a LPN at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Caldwell, ID. She loved giving comfort and providing countless hours of compassionate care. Beulah is survived by her children John (Linda), Ron (Judith), and Toni Ann (Michael), eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one grandson. The family would like to give special thanks to XL Hospice, especially Brock and his team, for the compassionate care given to her. Beulah’s family would like everyone to give their Mom a hug! A graveside service will be held Monday, April 29, 2013, 11:00 AM at the Jordan Valley Cemetery. TO JOHN, RONNIE, AND TONI ANN, SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOTHER. SHE WAS ALWAYS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LADY.. SUCH A NICE OBITUARY. WHAT AN INTERESTING LIFE SHE HAD. FLOYD IS HAVING KNEE SURGERY IN LAS VEGAS SO I WON'T BE ABLE TO ATTEND YOUR MOM'S FUNERAL. MY THOUGHTS WILL BE WITH YOU .
