"I'm going to Heaven, What About You?" Romans 10:9 Beverly Ruth Jenkins was born on November 6, 1947 in Indio California to James and Virgie McGee. Her early childhood was spent in Indio until the family moved to Los Angeles, California. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Raymond Andrews. From this union, three children were born: twin daughters Kenya and Kelly and her only son, Kelon Andrews. She attended Markham Jr. High School, Los Angeles Jordan High and then Compton High School. Beverly was also affectionately called, "Peanut, Boot Hill Bev, and Baby Tilly." To this day, she is still called, "Peanut." She furthered her education pursuing her passion; cooking. Peanut loved to cook and enjoyed making her famous dishes for her loved ones. She received a certificate in Culinary Arts from Compton College in 1975. She also worked as a cook for many years at a nursing home. Beverly was predeceased by her loving parents (James and Virgie McGee) and one sister (Ruthie McGee Harris) and leaves to mourn her three children; Kenya, Kelly and Kelon; five sisters, Deborah (Tobie Irving), Gwendolyn (Paul Perez), Odessa Raye Burns, Janis (Tabb) McGee Washington, Tawanna McGee , and one brother, James McGee, Jr. She also leaves four grandchildren: her first grandson, Terrence Dickson and three granddaughters: Kyla Andrews, Kaliyah Andrews, and Kalise Andrews. It goes without saying that "Bev" will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones and friends. Beverly loved her family and always enjoyed visits from her loved ones. Whether it was going on a cruise with her sisters, shopping with her daughters, going out to eat or to the movies with her son, or attending family cook-outs; she was always up for a good laugh, or sharing memorable stories with family and friends. She liked reading any and all types of maps; she simply loved traveling. "Bev" met no strangers. She made everyone feel at home. Even when faced with the challenges of illness, she continued to enjoy her life to the fullest. "Bev's" beautiful smile would brighten the day. One of her famous sayings were "I'm going to heaven what about you?" Because of her love for life and people, she lived her life without reservations. We will truly miss our "Peanut." "Rest well Beverly, we'll see you in heaven."
