Beverly Jane Lewis

February 16th, 1941 - March 14th, 2024

Beverly Jane Lewis, 83, went to her heavenly home on Thursday March 14, 2024 surrounded by her family.

 

Beverly was born February 16, 1941, at her family's farmhouse in the Fort Collins area to Henry and Annie Winick. She was the sixth of seven children. She graduated from Fort Collins High School. Beverly married Wray Lewis in 1958. Together they lived on their family farm in Pierce and Fort Collins before living in the home they built in east Fort Collins.

 

Beverly worked as an elementary school cook before working at their jewelry store in downtown Fort Collins. She later worked several years at Kodak in Windsor before becoming a homemaker. She loved working and serving in her local church. She loved to read her Bible and was a faithful servant of our Lord evidenced by her actions and love for others. She inspired her entire family.

 

Beverly had many hobbies including sewing, quilting, crafting teddy bears, doll making, and playing the piano. She loved board games with her grandchildren and family vacations, particularly to Hart Ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She enjoyed all of God's creation, especially birds, owls and butterflies. She also enjoyed simply watching old shows on television such as The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Golden Girls and old westerns. She also enjoyed watching Sunday sermons and basketball with her husband Wray.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband Wray, sister Ruth Hawkins, sister-in laws Corinne Winick and Deanie Winick, and children Brad Lewis (Terry), Calven Lewis, Gail Rosenhagen (Mark), and God-daughter Rhonda Hernandez. She had eight grandchildren Chris (Tessa), Mick, Nate (Mandy), Bev (Robbie), Kathy (D.J.), Lisa, Gina, Mark, and 13 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was loved by everyone who met her.

 

Memorial contributions in Beverly's name can be made to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
