Beverly Mason Shives

SHIVES, Beverly Mason, 84, of Tampa, passed away June 17, 2014. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC. He retired from the United States Air Force, spent many years in commercial construction and was a hospital Chaplain at Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Bayfront Medical Center. He was an active and a beloved member of two Tampa Episcopal churches, St. John's and St. Mary's, where he served as a Deacon. He was very active in National Episcopal Conference of the Hearing Impaired. He was avid in fly fishing and sailing. He is survived by his wife Pam, of 31 years; five children, Elisabeth Parish, Michelle A. Holley (Robert Cronk), Courtney Krell, Bradford C. Smith (Cindy) and J. Mason Shives; eight grandchildren, Danielle Ramos (Alvin), Andrew Weatherford, Bradford Smith (Michelle), Jessica Smith, Mac Hood, Pamela Taylor Shives Holley, Jamie Holley, Kristen Smith and Leighann Smith; great grandchildren, Angela, Deacon and Liam Ramos, Bellarose Smith and Lilyrose Smith; brother, R. Lindsay Shives (Becky); extended family and friends. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Tampa, FL. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church Hearing Impaired Ministry.
