Bill did not have an easy life however he did the best he could with what he was given. He was the most peaceful, caring, patient and understanding person. He loved looking at the clouds and star gazing. He also really loved the mountains. He spent as much time as could in the mountains. Fishing was something he did every chance he got and his love for animals was so great that they were all drawn to him. He was an exceptional person. He loved his family, blood related and those who became family throughout his life.Ā Ā

My Friend, my brother Bill Freeman is gone, but he will never be forgotten. Bill was an slow to anger, Bill was one of the calmest easy going people I've ever had the privilege to know in this life. Bill had the capacity to do incredibly stupid things on a whim, which led him to so much grief in his life, at the same time he had the ability to be completely selfless in the aid of his friends of which I count myself lucky to have been one of. Though Bill had many regrets, I hope he managed to address some of them through his family before the end. I know I never saw him happier in all the time I've known him than when he was with his family. I will mourn the loss of Bill, but I will celebrate the memories I have of him always, as we should all do. I truly hope Bill finds peace in what comes next for him, for the person he was, I truly believe he deserves that peace. Goodbye brother, you will be missed. Rest easy knowing you touched so many.Hope there are cookies where you end up. YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED! Much love brother, Scott Cochran

Bill Freeman and I became friends in the early 2000's at Ely State Prison. Nevada's Level 3 Supermax. We were both there because we had a habit of not sticking around when we got locked up. We did near a decade together and then hung out outside of prison, before both going back in again. I am a Christian. Bill represented himself as a Pagan. We became brothers. Bill was the most Christian non-Christian I ever met. Most serene, even tempered person.Never saw anything take him out of character. He was always the same. Consistent. A faithful friend. Bill and I had some good long conversations over the last year and one very recently. I told him "Bill, I am not going to preach to you.." And then he let me preach to him for half an hour. I broke it down one last time..."Jesus said, I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. No man comes to the Father, but by Him." Bill was very receptive and I pray he took hold of that nail scarred hand before he passed over. I definitely want to hang out with him in heaven! Roy Bell
