Billy Ray Westbrook
February 19th, 1945 - December 24th, 2023
Billy Ray Westbrook Jr., 78, of Dade City Florida, was called home by the Lord on December 24, 2023. Bill was born on October 19, 1945 to Billy Ray Westbrook Sr. and Jeanette (Culvey) Westbrook in Oklahoma City, Ok. Bill was raised by his grandmother Dorothy Elkins, affectionately known as “Dada”, in New Orleans LA where he excelled in football at Mid-City Baptist High School, who retired his player number! After graduation in 1962 Bill went on to join the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 10 years. Bill flew forward air control in a Cessna O2 Skymaster in Vietnam and survived being shot down twice. After serving in the military, Bill went on to study petroleum engineering at LSU and OU and enjoyed a successful career in the oil field industry for over 35 years, which included traveling the world and starting Blackfire Inc, the company he ran until he retired in 2015. In 2002, Bill met the love of his life, Susan Siggelko and her son Christopher in Tampa Florida. Bill and Susan married on October 4th, 2003, after which their family moved to Oklahoma. Bill enjoyed traveling to the National Parks and historic sites around the country with Susan and Chris. Bill also loved Hawaii and its people. Bill was passionate about protecting abused children, and rode with BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) for many years and was proud to serve as president of the Oklahoma City Chapter for a while. BACA members would often put their lives on the line to protect children. Bill loved riding his Harley since he was 14, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and he was a model railroad enthusiast and traveled the country to ride trains with restored steam engines. He was a great fan of OU, LSU and Florida State Football and the New York Yankees. John “The Duke” Wayne was his absolutely favorite actor and he loved collecting memorabilia. He was a Cajun food connoisseur enjoying the best boudin and crawfish and could cook up a fabulous gumbo! Bill’s favorite choice of drink was Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey or an excellent 25 year old Macallan Scotch. He loved his dogs and rescued many from horrible circumstances. Bill is survived by his loving wife Susan Siggelko-Westbrook and “bonus” son Christopher Siggelko of Dade City FL. His son Jim Westbrook and wife Beth of Nashville TN, grandson Jay Westbrook and wife Morgan of Franklin TN, plus great grandchildren Palmer and Mason. His son Billy Westbrook of Columbus IN, and granddaughters Alexis Storm and Noelle. His son Patrick Westbrook of Columbus IN, and granddaughters Ashley and Natasha.
