Live video feed of service starts at 11:00 AM on Saturday 16th, 2013 Merritt Island Bleeka Johnson Lyndon passed away on November 9, 2013 in Rockledge at the age of 91. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC and came to Brevard County in1954 with her husband John Ingram Lyndon at the beginning of the space program. The family resided on Merritt Island. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1988. She is survived by her daughters Donna Lynn (Joe) of Montgomery Village, MD, Gloria Willis, Moneta, VA, and Cheryl Scoma, San Francisco, CA; brother Leonard Alva Johnson, Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren Lynda Lynn, Bowie, MD, Doug Lynn (Michele), Cocoa Beach, FL, Paul Lynn (Kim), Cocoa Beach, FL, and Ryan Willis, Broadlands, VA; two special great grandchildren Joey and Morgan Lynn, Cocoa Beach, FL, all of whom she loved very much; nieces and nephews: Lydia Wallace, Bellefonte, PA, Les Calaway, Merritt Island, FL; Carol Johnson, Toby Green, Jean Leonard, Jon Johnson, and Deneille Atwood all of Winston-Salem, NC; and her life-long friend, Lola Teague, Winston-Salem, NC. In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Maude Johnson, her brother Durwood Johnson and her sister Delores Calaway and two very special sons-in-law Al Scoma and Gary Willis. Bleeka worked as a bookkeeper and also at the Kennedy Space Center for a brief period. She was later a successful Avon representative into her eighties. Bleeka loved living in Florida, her friends, the ""beach"" and especially her home on Merritt Island on the Indian River. She loved her plants and flowers and the sunsets on the river. She traveled frequently with her husband John and her children (she loved the Caribbean) and to her children's homes. The family appreciates the loving care she received at Palm Cottages Assisted Living and especially that of her caregivers in Sylvester Cottage. We also wish to thank Ellen Potts and Dr. Susan Schneider of Sunset Healthcare Solutions and Brevard Wuesthoff Hospice for their kind support for Bleeka. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Services will be at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home, Viera, Fl., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00A.M.
