Bobby Rhea Baker, 77, passed away Friday February 28, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. He was born November 25, 1936 to the late William Matt and Bertha Baker of Whitley County, Kentucky. Bobby and his former spouse Tippi (Rice) moved their young family to the Englewood area in 1968 to escape the brutal winters of Michigan. He loved Florida and all it had to offer; the golfing, fishing, boating, camping, motorcycling and outdoor activities. He changed professions upon moving here and became a plumber until he retired in the early 2000's. Although he never really retired, he moved to Old Town full time in 1996 where he starting buying rental properties and managed them himself to keep busy. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1933, as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3885 and a life member of the B. P. O. Elks #2378 all of Englewood. Bobby was preceded in death by his four brothers: Rice "Ralph" Baker, Sollie Baker, Charlie Baker, Jack Baker; two sisters: Betty Sue Baker Balliet and Blanche Marie Baker Stittler; two children: Diana Lynn Baker Gordon and David Ray Baker. Bobby is survived by his brother: William Matt Baker; one sister: Lillie Hunter; sister-in-laws: Lola Baker and Ruth Baker; daughter: Linda Vibbert; two granddaughters: Theresa (Shane) Sisler, Lauren Vibbert (Robert Brandon); three great grandchildren, Emily Sisler, Kayden and Mckaela Brandon, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held in Bobby's honor Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2:30pm at the Moose Lodge #1933, 55 West Dearborn Street, Englewood.
