Bobby Gene Hawkins

"Belchertown- Bobby G. Hawkins, 87 , passed away May 22, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Sonya (Ross) Hawkins, who passed away in 2014. Born on September 22, 1930 in Spiro, OK, Bobby was the son of the late Alice Floy (Rollins) and Denny Ray Hawkins, and had lived in Belchertown since 1970. He was a computer engineer for over 50 years, most recently for the Borroughs Corp. Bobby was a long time member of Darts Across America. He was passionate about computers, and enjoyed building and fixing them. He was a fun-loving guy, who loved to eat and drink with his circle of good friends. Above all else, Bobby was a devoted family man who adored his wife and children and cherished the times they spent together as a family. He is survived by his three children, "Dardi" Hawkins of Whatley, Barbara Harte of VA, and Monique Stifter of San Antonio, TX; a sister Alice Ann Hawkins of GA; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heidi Tyler, a son, Daniel Hawkins, a brother, Billy Ray Hawkins, a sister, Doris Dickinson, and a grandson, Eric Auclair. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 29th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple Street. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 30th at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, PO Box 933, Belchertown MA 01007."
