Bonnie Louise Welch
August 30th, 1941 - May 26th, 2021
In Loving Memory 8/30/1941 - 5/26/2021 It is with deep sorrow and much love that our family mourns the passing of Bonnie Louise Welch of Arvada, Colorado on the day of May 26, 2021. She passed at the age of 79 at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, while in the presence and in the hearts of so many loving family members and friends. Bonnie was born in Denver, Colorado on August 30, 1941. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Rexford (Rex) Welch, their five children, including son Anthony (Tony) Welch, his wife Susan (Sue) Welch, daughter Laurie Welch, daughter Debra (Debbie) Welch, son Terry Welch, and daughter Katherine (Kathy) Hackett, her husband Mark Hackett, along with 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Welch was also survived by two siblings, her brother Edward (Ed) Warren and his wife Sharon, along with her sister Vicky Acree, and her husband Ken White. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Edward Warren and Mrs. Velma Wartman. Bonnie touched the lives of so many by putting their needs in front of her own. She was favorably known by family and friends as one of the neighborhood moms anyone could come to for safety, love, a meal, or a place to rest your head. Her children grew up with the understanding that a home should be shared with anyone that enters it. She also shared her love and strong faith in God and the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as their savior. From the simplest teachings about the importance of chores, schoolwork and taking care of yourself, to the harder life lessons of accountability for your actions, telling the truth, and following through on commitments, she stood firm and committed to set her children up for success of becoming productive members in life. Her children have lasting memories of her dancing on the coffee table while Elvis was on TV, in addition to playing board games and cards on the weekends. We will all miss her, but are blessed to have been touched by her love, understanding, faith, teachings and most of all her commitment to her family. Bonnie's was blessed to give the gift of life through tissue donation. Memorial services will be performed at Aspen Mortuary, 1350 Simms St., Lakewood, on July 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Patrick Dorn officiating. We welcome you all to share your stories of remembrance at a gathering that will take place thereafter at The American Legion Post #178, 1655 Simms Street, Lakewood, Colorado at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery. You can express your condolences to Rex and family via [email protected] or by sending flowers to Aspen Mortuary, 1350 Simms St., Lakewood, on or before July 19, 2021. †œFor God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16 King James Version).†
