Bonnie Ellen Winther
April 3rd, 1942 - August 24th, 2017
Bonnie was born in Angels Camp, CA, on April 3, 1942. She grew up in Shenandoah Valley on the H.F. Cooper Ranch. She attended elementary school at the Shenandoah Valley schoolhouse, taught by her grandmother Mary Davis, and graduated from Amador County High School in 1960. During her years at Amador, she was the senior class vice president and the school mascot. She participated in the Women's Athletic Association and the FHA cooking extravaganzas. Bonnie attended Modesto Junior College where she received her AA degree and it was during that time with she met and married A.C. Coburn. The couple established their home in Manteca, CA, and raised three children. Bonnie later returned to Shenandaoh Valley where she married Lyman Winther, and enjoyed farming walnuts and being back on Cooper Ranch. She was an active member of the Shenandoah Valley community and enjoyed gardening, baking, and doing for others. She will be remembered by all for her loving smile and warmness of heart, and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Hank and Ruth E. Cooper, and her husband Lyman Winther. She is survived by her brother George Richard (Dick) Cooper, three daughters, Sheri Coburn (Peter) Miramontes, Kimberley Coburn and Wendy (David) Velasquez, five grandsons - Scott and Rayn Mackey, Deven Yeager, and Tyler and Mason Velasquez, and her stepchildren, Russell Winther and Loralee Naeb and their children, Jason, Shelby and Shasta Winther and Daryl Fenn. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Shenandoah Valley Community Club hall on September 30, 2017 from 11 AM to 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shenandoah Valley Community Club Building Fund, and mailed to P.0. Box 207, Plymouth, CA 95669.
