Boor Singh Hundal

Boor Singh Hundal, 88, passed away on January 5, 2017 in Yuba City, California. He was born on February 11, 1928 to Dalip Kaur and Sampuran Singh in Bandala within the Lyallpur District of Pakistan. In 1946, he married Mohinder Kaur and then they immigrated to India, Village Chotala in the District of Hoshiarpur as part of the partition. He then immigrated with his family to the United States, settling in Yuba City on March 30, 1972 where he had lived since. Boor Singh is best described as a hard working, loving man who built life for his family from scratch here in Yuba City. He worked in various agricultural capacities, eventually becoming a well respected farmer, purchasing his first peach and prune orchard in 1976. To the present day, his sons and grandsons continue to carry on his legacy with numerous orchards in the Yuba, Sutter and Yolo County areas. Boor Singh will be remembered throughout the local community as a helpful, caring, loving and hardworking person who selflessly helped many people. He was a humble man who lived a simple life but he left a great impact on the lives he touched. He leaves behind his adoring family and many friends who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his: wife, Mohinder Kaur; children: Daljit Hundal (Surinder), Updesh (Amarvir Aulakh), Gurjit Hundal (Reshmi), Inderbir (Manjinder Deol) & Paul Hundal (Sonya) in addition to ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel at 11:00 am followed by Bhog at Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, Bogue Road, Yuba City.
