Boyce Legrand Sturkie

WEST COLUMBIA - Boyce Legrand Sturkie, 72, of West Columbia, passed away May 4, 2020 at Twilight Manor Adult Residential Care. Born October 30, 1947 in Barnwell, SC, he was the son of the late Richard Carlisle and Rhoda Hartzog Sturkie. Boyce was employed with South Carolina Electric and Gas until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, especially taking trips to Santee and shrimping in Beaufort. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #154 and Laurel Baptist Church. Boyce was also a US Army National Guard Veteran. Surviving are three sons, Travis Sturkie (Alison), Jason Sturkie (Misty) and Jarred Sturkie (Christy) all of Lexington; his ex-wife, Brenda Sturkie with whom he was still very close; two sisters, Shirley Williams of West Columbia and Carolyn Jackson of Cayce; seven grandchildren, Griffin, Carly, Rilee, Lia, Paisley, Bonnie and Bella. Mr. Sturkie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Sturkie. No services will be held at the present time. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the Sturkie Family.
