Brenda Kay Hudson Young

Brenda Kay Hudson Young, 78, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. The daughter of Virgil and Eva Tracy Hudson, Brenda was born November 8, 1945, in Shelbyville, Kentucky. A loving and caring person, Brenda opened her door to anyone, always giving with no expectations of anything in return. She enjoyed going to the Red Mile and caring for her little dog Brutus, who sadly passed away a few years ago.
Brenda is survived by her children, Rita (Tim) Hockensmith of Frankfort, Jean (Jeff) McGohon of Shelbyville, and Kelly Young of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Tim (Stephanie) Hockensmith, Jr, Michael (Elizabeth) Hockensmith, Ashley (Evan) Sandlin, Madison Ary, and Molly Young; and her great-grandchildren, Derek, Emma, Easton, Camdyn, Wyatt, Grayson, Nolan, and Adalynn.
In addition to her parents, Virgil and Eva Tracy Hudson, Brenda was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine Goins and Linda Harrod; and a brother, Kenneth Hudson.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00p, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort. A Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00a until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
