Brenda Joyce Martinez

Brenda Joyce Martinez, known as Joyce, was born in San Diego, California on July 31st, 1951. She was an Air Force Brat who spent her childhood traveling all over, eventually settling in Tampa, Florida where she had a long and successful career with GTE/Verizon. She was a wonderful and devoted Mother to her two children, Ryan and Ashley. She was sharp, witty and had the most incredible inner strength. She fought hard against Multiple Sclerosis for many years and never gave up, never allowed it to define her or make her bitter. She had a real passion for research and genealogy which she shared with her dear friend, Mary Perry. She earned her wings on December 6th, 2022 and joined her Mother, Father, Stepfather and many other loved ones in Heaven. She leaves behind her two children, Ryan(Jennifer) Martinez and Ashley(Johnny) Redondo. Her grandchildren; Timothy, Johnny, Emma and Thomas. Her sister, Linda(Bill) Garbini. Her Niece, Dawn(Toby) Stewart and Nephews; Robbie(Michelle) Easterlin and Brandon Easterlin. Her family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers who have been like family these past few years. Lattoya, Eusta and Susana, we are grateful to you all for your loving care you have given Joyce. “In these moments of heartbreaking grief, I remember the only reason we have an empty space is because we were blessed with someone who loved us so beautifully it occupied an entire part of our soul.”
