Brenda Morehead

Brenda Morehead of Sutter, CA, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2024. Brenda was 84 years old. She was born to Robert Bryant and Mildred Bryant in Evanston, Illinois. They moved to Yuba City, California, when she was 3 years old. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Morehead; brother, Jon Bryant; and sister, Leslie Lawton. She is survived by their 4 sons, Darren Morehead (Coleen), Tod Morehead (Gary), Joe Morehead (Julie) and Marty Morehead (Susie); 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Karen Bryant. Brenda graduated from Yuba City High School in 1957. Shortly after, she met Joe and were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1959. In the early days, Brenda helped Joe start Butte Rock and Gravel. It was a successful family business that was taken over by their sons in 1991. The most important thing for Brenda was her family. She was always involved in all their activities and supported her sons, grandkids, and great-grandkids proudly. She was often keeping score at little league games and in the stands during football, baseball and wrestling matches. She loved playing tennis. She was the glue that kept everyone together as a family. Brenda and Joe kept busy when they retired. They traveled around the world and in their RV throughout the US, Canada and Mexico with friends. Brenda often would hike with Joe along the Pacific Crest Trail. Brenda was active in the community and will be remembered fondly by all. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Sutter Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Joe and Brenda will be held on February 10, 2024, at 1:00 pm at The Sutter Youth Organization Building in Sutter, California.
