Brenda Charlean Whitley

Mrs. Brenda Charlean Whitley, age 70 a resident of Auburndale passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Whitley was born November 30, 1950 in Smithville, North Carolina to Lefus Senior and Mozelle (Strickland) Whitley. She was an Auburndale resident since 1986 coming from North Carolina. She was retired Housekeeper and attended Auburndale Life Church. Brenda enjoyed feeding the neighborhood everything from people to animals, cooking, giving advice and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Donald Ray Whitfield; sister – Georgette; grandson – Joseph “JoJo” and sister –in-law – Gertrude. Brenda is survived by her loving family, 2 sons – Kenneth (Ashley) Whitley of Raleigh, N.C. and Kyle Deshommes of Auburndale, FL.; 2 daughters – Gwen (Costa) Whitley-Burgess of Wilson County, N.C. and LaToya Deshommes of Auburndale, FL.2 brothers – Lefus Junior Whitley of Wilson County, N.C. and Terry (Constance) Whitley of Zebulon, N.C.; sister – Betty Jean Ellis of Bailey, N.C.; adopted daughter – Guitone Jean and her 6 children – Quinntone, Richard, Kenny, Donisha, Davidson & Isiah all of Winter Haven, FL.; 6 grandchildren – Kendra, Noel, Kylan, Corey, Marshall & Braniyha; 5 great grandchildren; best worrisome friend – Larry Spencer of Winter Haven, FL.; many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 29, 2021 at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
