Brent Clayton Morrison

Brent Clayton Morrison, 61, surrounded by family, passed away after a valiant fight with Leukemia. He was a beloved husband, father, step-father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Julie, son Scott, step-son Dylan, sisters Kim Youel and Wendy and brother Michael. He is pre-deceased by his brother Scott and parents Henry and Beverly. He met Julie in 2001 during a charity event in Winter Park for the National Sports Center for the Disabled. They were married in 2003. Brent valued the importance of volunteering and was a ski instructor for disabled children in the NSCD program for 18 years. He and his family lived in Golden, CO and he loved the outdoors. Skier, snowboarder, fisherman, golfer, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and motocross were all activities he enjoyed. But most of all he loved his wife & children. Brent met Dylan when he was 5 and fell in love instantly. He was a mentor and experienced the joys of fatherhood so much that he wanted a child of his own. His son Scott was born in 2005. Time together was cut too short. But the art of conversation that Brent possessed was passed down to his son, and over the years they have had long conversations about life. He expressed his love openly and often and stated often how lucky he was. He was so proud of who the boys were becoming as young men. We were blessed to have had him in our life. In addition to home remodeling, Brent was an artist building home furnishings from reclaimed wood and steel. He will forever be in our hearts and missed beyond words. His smile, warm hugs, optimism and love of life will be cherished memories.
