Brent L. Richards

Brent L. Richards, 24, of Broadalbin passed away with his father, Mark, following a fishing accident on Great Sacandaga Lake. Born on December 5, 1988 in Gloversville, He was the son of Mark L. and Darla J. Wadsworth Richards. Mr. Richards had served as a member of the New York State Army National Guard. Brent was an outdoorsman, he loved being in the woods and often could be found cutting trees for firewood or clearing brush, he also liked four wheeling. Like his father and grandfather he had a born passion for fishing. Brent was a mechanic at heart and enjoyed building and "tinkering" with machines and engines. He is survived by his mother, Darla J. Richards of Broadalbin; one brother, Jessi Carter of Alabama; a sister, Brie Richards of Broadalbin; a niece, Livia Richards of Broadalbin. The family will receive friends and relatives from 3PM until 6PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main Street, Broadalbin, NY. Brent had a wish to be able to help children, so his family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Brent's family to assist them with further expenses.
