BRETT MCKEE BONNETT CLARKE Brett Clarke died on July 26, 2016, after a short illness. He was born in Knoxville, TN on October 23, 1970, while his mother was a resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee. Brett came to St. Petersburg when his mother established her Radiology practice at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in 1975. He was an exceptionally determined student and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy, where he held school records in swimming and track. His free time revolved around boating, water sports, and his many friends. After graduation from Florida State University, he attended graduate school in Switzerland. Brett then worked as a manager for a luxury hotel in Denver, CO, but his love of the salt water life drew him back to St. Petersburg. He worked for most of his adult life in the boating business, combining his lifelong love of the sea with his inborn friendliness and natural love of people. His exuberance for living was contagious for all those around him. Brett married Angela Jeanine ("AJ"), also a lover of all the things Brett loved. They spent their leisure time together, boating, skiing, and traveling. Brett's love for animals found its expression in his three Clumber spaniels, who shared his and AJ's love of the water in their frequent outings to the sandbar. Brett is survived by his wife Angela Jeanine ("AJ"), his parents John M. Clarke, MD (Jack) and Kit H. Clarke, MD, brothers Jeffrey William Clarke, Blair Hansen Clarke and Brandon Chamberlain Clarke, a sister Gray Campbell Ash, his goddaughter Caroline Emerson Clarke, and his natural father Ronald Bonnett, DMD, and his wife Pat Bonnett. A funeral service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, 140 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701, on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 10:00 AM.
