Brett Lloyd Reitmeier passed away at home on June 29th, 2024, at the age of 65.

Brett was born September 23, 1958, in Spokane, Washington to MaryLou (Mo) Thomason and Lloyd E. Reitmeier. When Brett was 5 his parents moved to Boise where he got to attend kindergarten and learned French. The next year his parents moved to Caldwell where he attended first grade through his senior year, graduating in 1977. He went on to attend the University of Idaho.

While growing up some of the activities Brett enjoyed were: Cub Scouts, Track & Field, Football, and many other sports activities. During his high school years Brett enjoyed carrying the title of the fastest running back in the Southern Conference.

Brett was a lifetime sportsman in many areas of his adult life, from being a referee and assistant coach to little league football, to hunting and fishing with his friends.

He also took a great interest in the College of Idaho sports and enjoyed cheering them on to their many victories. Brett had many interests and enjoyed them all with his friends and family.

Brett had over 40 years of experience working as salesman for companies such as Caxtons, MPC, HP, Gov Connection and CradlePoint. While working for some of these companies Brett enjoyed traveling all throughout Idaho and got to meet a lot of amazing people.

Brett will be very much missed by his church family at Kuna United Methodist Church. Over the years he served on the leadership team, volunteered in the food bank, helped with Sunday Supper, participated in his small group, helped set up for the outdoor services, and was a wonderful lead usher and greeter. As a greeter and usher, he took time to learn each person’s name and made note of conversations. He kept track of special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, joys or concerns and would greet and welcome with a personal message. He was dependable and made things happen: the church bell rang, the candles were prepared to light, fans were cooling, sandwich boards were placed, and bulletins were in every hand. Brett will be remembered for his willingness to serve.

Brett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer & Thelma Reitmeier of Cheney, WA, Fred & Anna Shoaf of Plaza, Washington; Stepdad, Robert (Bob) Thomason of Caldwell, Idaho; and brother in-law, LeRoy Jordan of Caldwell, Idaho.

He is survived by his mother, MaryLou (Mo) Thomason; father, Lloyd E. Reitmeier; sister, LuAnn (Tom Budiselic); sister, BobbiJo (Steve Brown); nephew, Robert Jordan; and nieces: Krystal Jordan, Jennifer (Shane Witt), Stephanie (Reese Eells) and many great nephews and nieces. Plus, many wonderful aunts, uncles & cousins, including some very special friends Pat Huffacker, and Jerry & Dixie Hayenga.

We would like those of you who knew and enjoyed Brett to celebrate his memory/life with us.

Saturday August 3, 2024 at 5:00pm at Kuna United Methodist Church with Reverand Mia Costhwaite presiding.

We Entrusted Brett Reitmeier's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
