Brian Burk
May 8th, 2015
Brian Arthur Burk, 40, went to be with the Lord, Friday May 8th, 2015. He was born in Tampa, FL and moved to Merritt Island as a young boy. He graduated from MIHS and attended BCC and the University of Florida. Brian loved boating, fishing, and race cars. He participated in medical mission trips to Nicaragua, contributed in the construction of Rotary Park, and also helped distribute food to the needy. He was a caring, fun loving man whose presence will be missed by many. He leaves behind his wife, Karen, his mother, Gloria, his father, Dr. Ron Burk (Jean Ann), sister Emily (Brian) Gardze, step brothers Ben (Elyse) and Tim (Monica) Smith, stepson Dylan Houck and stepdaughter Rosemarie King(her children), and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of His Life will be held Friday May 15, 2015 at 1pm at Merritt Island Presbyterian Church, Merritt Island, Florida. Followed by a gathering at Cape Marina, Port Canaveral. Brian was an avid fisherman and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cocoa Beach Optimist Club's Kids Fishing Clinic, P. O. Box 165, Cape Canaveral, Florida. We take comfort in knowing that he is now walking side by side with Jesus and our departed loved ones. Arrangements by FAMILY owned and operated Atlantic Mortuary & Cremation Service, Rockledge.
