May 13th, 1969 - March 30th, 2015
GRANTHAM, Brian D., 45, of Lutz, Florida passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 after a very courageous battle with metastatic colon cancer. He was born in Tampa, Florida. Brian was a 1987 graduate of Robinson High School. He attended Georgia Southwestern University where he was on the football team. Brian earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Florida and his Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Brian worked with the Hillsborough County District Schools for the past 23 years coaching and teaching. Most recently, he was the Athletic Director at Alonso High School and proud to be a member of the Raven Nation. Brian enjoyed playing golf and football; was a Clemson football fan and an avid Larry Bird Era Boston Celtics fan; watching James Bond 007 movies; running 5K and half marathon races and most of all, playing X-Box and knee football with his sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Laurie; two sons, Pierce Brian and Wyatt David; parents, David and Sally Grantham. Brian lived the Alonso Raven creed: Fly High and Soar Proud! A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11th at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. Donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the church memorial fund or American Cancer Society.
