Brian A. Town
September 7th, 1962 - April 5th, 2007
Brian A. Town, Sr. age 44, passed away, after numerous years battling with diabetes, on April 5th 2007. Brian was born in the city of Gloversville on September 7th 1962 to proud parents, Iris Sally and Donald Town Sr. He spent all of his life within Gloversville, attending school in Gloversville and earning his GED. He went on to work as a leatherworker in various locations and continued to maintain a job until his disease prevented him from being able to work. Brian then turned his attention to earning a degree from Fulton Montgomery Community College where, while earning his degree, he worked at FMCC to help out other students, acquiring many friends while he was there. Brian was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, his favorite driver being Tony Stewart, and a dedicated Neil Young fan. He enjoyed playing golf on clear sunny summer days with his friends. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, always watching each game and cheering them on during their Super Bowl victory. Brian loved to hunt as well, making sure to go each season to score that elusive buck he would always talk about, much like his father, Don Town Sr. When his father passed away Brian was heartbroken and made sure to visit his resting place regularly. Throughout his life Brian was an unbelievably loving father, a dedicated brother, and an extremely caring son. He will be missed dearly by those whose lives he has touched and we will all remember him each time we see a football game, glance at a race or look up to the sky to see he's watching over us. He is survived by his son Brian A. Town Jr., his mother Iris Sally Town, one sister, Linda Pettit Joe, Gloversville; four brothers, Donald Town Jr., Northville, Watson Dan Town Narika, Gloversville, Sherman John Town Susan, Gloversville, Gary Town, Kissimmee FL; his girlfriend, Linda Ogden, Gloversville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his father, Donald Town Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Jennie Town; and his maternal grandparents, Watson and Rose Seelow. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Reverend Wayne Jones officiating. Interment will take place at Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation - http://www.diabetes.org/.
